How to Master multiplayer mode's newest features in Call of Duty: Black Ops

"How to Master multiplayer mode's newest features in Call of Duty: Black Ops" cover image

The single-player campaign mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops may be intense, but the multiplayer mode is a bloodbath of pure addiction. Black Ops takes the super successful formula of Modern Warfare and adds its own special twist. There's some changes, and Jessica Chobot from IGN Strategize is going to tell you all about them!

The big change in multiplayer mode is the inclusion of CoD Points. In the past, new equipment and abilities like weapons, perks and kill streaks were earn by leveling up, but now you have to buy them with CoD Points, though these points can be earned pretty easily by playing multiplayer mode a LOT.

There's also some gambling going on in PlayStation Network and Xbox Live matches, where you bet your CoD Points is special wager matches. It's the best way to get points, but requires a little finesse.

Once you have points, first thing— there are NO refunds. Once you buy something, you're stuck with it. If you don't have a plan, you're going to waste a lot of points on things you don't need. The best way to test out the guns is to player the single-player portion first for free, complete with attachments.

There's also some great perks that you can unlock, like Hardline, Sleight of Hand and Ninja. Hardline means you can earn kill streak rewards with one less kill. Sleight of Hand lets you reload weapons faster. Ninja causes you to move more silently.
